Auction · 800608873926 is this week’s popular plate.
The slogan across the top of this truck plate reads “CORONADO CUARTO CENTENNIAL”. This commemorated the 400th anniversary of the 1540 expedition led by Spanish explorer Francisco Vázquez de Coronado. Historically, this milestone edition marked the very first time New Mexico used a commemorative slogan on its license plates. The following year, in 1941, the state officially adopted and introduced its famous permanent slogan, “The Land of Enchantment”.
